Job Description

About the role

As a Workday Data Lead, you will lead data strategy, migration, and governance for large-scale Workday implementations and transformations. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, ensuring high-quality, compliant, and business-aligned data solutions across HR and Finance platforms.

You will own end to end data delivery, oversee complex data landscapes, and lead teams to deliver data driven insights and transformation outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning and execution of data migration to ensure data is accurate, complete, and ready for use in the target system.
  • Coordinate teams, define migration approaches and controls, and manage risks to ensure a smooth and reliable transition.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, collaborate with and manage the team to perform effectively, take responsibility for team decisions, engage with multiple stakeholders, and contribute to key decisions.
  • Provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams.
  • Expert proficiency in Data Migration Planning is required.
  • Expert proficiency in Data Conversions and Data Migration Management is suggested; develop and implement comprehensive migration strategies that align with project goals and timelines.
  • Monitor migration progress and proactively address any issues to minimize disruptions; collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure data integrity and compliance throughout the migration process.
  • Analyze migration outcomes and recommend improvements for future projects; support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives within the team.
Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Extensive experience delivering Workday data migration and data management solutions in enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in data migration tools, ETL processes, and Workday data structures.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex delivery programs.
  • Experience defining and implementing data governance and quality frameworks.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including engagement with senior leadership.
  • Ability to solve complex data challenges and define scalable solutions.
Additional Preferred Attributes
  • Workday certification (HCM, Financials, or Data/Migration related).
  • Consulting experience within large scale transformation programs.
  • Experience across HRIS or Finance systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft).
