Job Description
Description: Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions. Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; and collects and prepares data for evaluation. Conducts laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware. Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements. May analyze compounds and manage corporate compound collection. Performs technical procedures in one or more of the following areas: Production, Research and Development, Quality Control/Assurance, and/or Compliance/Environmental.
Background/Need: The Sensor Operator role supports space operations by operating and monitoring a range of sensor systems in support of Space Situational Awareness (SSA). This position is responsible for performing radar operations to support the detection, tracking, and characterization of space objects. The Sensor Operator also conducts routine satellite operations, assessing system health and performance, detecting and reporting anomalies, and supporting actions to maintain safe and reliable operations.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Operate the Millstone, radars at Westford, MA or Lexington, MA to track satellites and carry out data acquisition according to customer needs.
- Monitor sensor telemetry and execute daily procedures to ensure safe operation of two sensor spacecraft, deployed on host satellites.
- Detect, assess, and respond to system anomalies, coordinating with appropriate teams to support spacecraft recovery.
Must Have:
- Associate degree or equivalent
- Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong communications skills
- Ability to work as an individual contributor or in small teams
Nice to Have/Preferred Skills:
- Sensor Operations Experience
- Knowledge of orbital mechanics
- UNIX/Linux user applications
- MATLAB
Schedule:
- 1st Shift: 7am-3pm - Thursday-Monday
- 2nd Shift: 3pm-11pm - Saturday-Wednesday
- This position follows a 40-hour work week that includes weekends and holidays and requires flexibility between day and mid shifts.

Others:
- Clearance: Active Department of Defense SECRET security clearance required in order to be submitted and considered for the position. The position requires access to classified information. The candidate must have or be able/willing upgrade to a TOP SECRET SCI security clearance and maintain it.
- Work Location: Candidates must be willing and able to work all shifts at both the Lexington and Westford locations as needed. Occasional coverage outside of normal shifts may be required, making schedule flexibility essential.
- Onsite Requirement: This position will be 100% onsite due to the nature of the work. There may be some remote flexibility on a case-by-case basis but there are no regular remote days.
- Interview Process: 1st round interview will be a Zoom with the hiring manager. 2nd round interview will be a Zoom with additional team members as needed.
