Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Java AWS Lead to join our team in Wilmington, DE. This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on L2/L3 Production Support, BAU Support, and application enhancements for a large-scale enterprise platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka, Production Support, and Data Engineering technologies.

The role requires leading production incident resolution, troubleshooting complex application issues, implementing enhancements, and ensuring the stability, performance, and reliability of mission-critical applications.

Project Overview

The team is responsible for L2/L3 Production Support and BAU Support for a critical enterprise application.

L2 Responsibilities:

• Production incident triaging and resolution
• Problem Management and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
• Application health checks and monitoring
• User support and education
• Production issue coordination

L3 Responsibilities:

• Bug fixes and application enhancements
• Ad-hoc report generation and data extracts
• Market and regulatory-driven enhancements
• Technology lifecycle management (TLM) upgrades
• Vulnerability remediation, patching, and version upgrades
• Audit support, access requests, recertifications, and compliance activities
• Infrastructure support in collaboration with SRE teams

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Java application development and production support
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with Python and Bash scripting
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including Glue, Lambda, S3, and EKS
• Experience working with Kubernetes and containerized applications
• Strong experience with Apache Kafka
• Strong SQL skills with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL
• Experience troubleshooting production incidents in enterprise environments
• Experience using Splunk for log analysis and production monitoring
• Experience with Apache Spark
• Experience developing and maintaining Airflow jobs
• Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, TDD, and regression testing
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Agile development practices
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot for AI-assisted development
• Understanding of application resiliency and security best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Data Engineering background
• Experience with DynamoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Experience supporting large-scale financial or enterprise applications
• Exposure to SRE practices and infrastructure support
