Role Summary

Fanatics Collect is building a trusted marketplace where collectors can securely store, discover, buy, and sell trading cards. We are seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to develop the customer experiences and platform capabilities that power the Collect marketplace, including Vault, Buy Now, auctions, and the tooling used to manage marketplace operations.

In this role, you will own complex features across the technology stack, from intuitive web experiences to scalable services and data models. You will partner with product, design, operations, and engineering teams to deliver reliable marketplace experiences that make collecting easier, faster, and more engaging.

As part of Fanatics Collectibles’ continued global growth, we are establishing a new technology hub in Mexico City focused on operational excellence, platform scalability, trust, and customer experience. This team partners closely with Customer Experience (CX), Trust & Safety, Fraud Prevention, Payments, and Financial Operations organizations to build scalable systems and operational tooling that support millions of users and transactions globally.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate full-stack features supporting Vault, Buy Now, auctions, and marketplace tooling.
• Develop intuitive customer experiences for managing vaulted assets, creating listings, placing bids, purchasing collectibles, and tracking transactions.
• Build scalable backend services and APIs that support marketplace workflows, inventory, listings, bidding, and order lifecycles.
• Strengthen the reliability and integrity of time-sensitive and transaction-heavy experiences, including live auctions and high-demand product activity.
• Translate complex marketplace and operational requirements into maintainable technical solutions.
• Partner with product managers and designers to shape requirements, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver high-quality customer experiences.
• Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, data, security, and other engineering teams to build integrated solutions across the Collect ecosystem.
• Improve application performance, observability, testing, deployment practices, and production readiness.
• Diagnose complex production issues, contribute to incident response, and drive root-cause fixes.
• Establish reusable patterns and engineering practices that improve the quality and velocity of full-stack development.
• Provide thoughtful code reviews, technical guidance, and mentorship to other engineers.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help evolve the marketplace technology roadmap.

What We’re Looking For

• Five or more years of professional software engineering experience, including meaningful ownership of full-stack applications.
• Strong experience building modern web applications using technologies such as React, TypeScript, or comparable frameworks and languages.
• Experience developing backend services and APIs using languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of data modeling and experience working with relational or non-relational databases.
• Experience designing and operating scalable, reliable, customer-facing systems in a production environment.
• Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, caching, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, observability, and cloud-based deployment.
• Ability to break down ambiguous problems, make sound technical decisions, and deliver solutions across multiple systems.
• Strong product judgment and an appreciation for how technical decisions affect customers and business operations.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, product, design, and operational teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building e-commerce, marketplace, fintech, auction, inventory, or other transaction-oriented products.
• Experience developing real-time or time-sensitive functionality, such as bidding, pricing, notifications, or live-event experiences.
• Familiarity with payments, order management, fulfillment, identity, fraud prevention, or marketplace trust and safety.
• Experience supporting internal operational tools alongside external customer experiences.
• Interest in trading cards, collectibles, marketplaces, or collector communities.

You will help shape the technology that connects physical collectibles with digital marketplace experiences. Your work will enable collectors to confidently manage vaulted assets, participate in auctions, purchase cards, and engage with the Collect marketplace at scale.
