Mechanical Engineer - DIRECT HIRE

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 Based on qualifications. Paid Weekly

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented degreed engineer to join our client. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience in mechanical systems and the associated processes of communicating those systems in 2D and 3D CAD. This position will be responsible for all aspects related to designing and delivering mechanically operated locking systems for existing and new detention facilities including oversight and preparation of submittals, fabrication drawings, procurement documents, scheduling, field installation drawings, pre and post test documents, and close out documents. This role requires strong technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively with our engineering, CAD, purchasing, fabrication, project management, and field installation teams. The Engineer will also be responsible for coordinating with all associated internal and external entities.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop detailed part and assembly drawings using CAD software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks and precise technical drawings with engineering and manufacturing to develop and review accurate Collaborate
• Prepare system design and installation documentation.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Perform quality checks on drawings to verify accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain organized records of all design documents and revisions.
• Create, distribute, and maintain Submittals, BOMs, and Close Out documents.
• Create purchase requisitions and track material delivery.
• Ensure projects are designed and delivered within budget and schedule requirements.
• Provide regular updates on project progress, status, etc.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss design progress and address any issues.
• Occasional travel to gather information from job sites; 3-4 days per month

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree (B.S. in Mechanical preferred).
• 3-5 years of experience.
• Proficiency in CAD software, particularly MicroStation and/or SolidWorks.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office programs.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems (motor drive units, gearing, chain, etc.).
• Ability to create detailed system drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong understanding of technical drawing standards and practices.
• Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in the detention industry is a plus.

Schedule

• 9-hour work shift; Monday through Thursday (8am to 5pm with breaks)

Job Type: Full-time, Salary-Exempt
