Title: Lead AI Agent Developer – Azure OpenAI / Microsoft Foundry / MCP

Location: Remote – PST Time Zone Candidates Only

Experience: 15+ Years Required

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Lead AI Agent Developer to design, develop, and deploy enterprise-grade AI agents using Microsoft Azure, Azure OpenAI, and Microsoft Foundry. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in agentic AI, multi-agent orchestration, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and secure enterprise AI application development.

The candidate must have a proven track record of leading technical implementations and delivering production-ready AI agent solutions.

Key Responsibilities

·        Design, develop, and deploy AI agents using Microsoft Azure, Azure OpenAI, and Microsoft Foundry.

·        Build agentic workflows, function calling, tool integration, multi-agent orchestration, and human-in-the-loop processes.

·        Develop MCP clients and servers to connect AI agents with enterprise APIs, tools, databases, and business applications.

·        Integrate AI agents with REST APIs, enterprise systems, and structured and unstructured data sources.

·        Implement secure authentication, authorization, identity management, secrets management, and responsible AI guardrails.

·        Develop scalable and maintainable solutions using Python and/or C#.

·        Implement vector search and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) using Azure AI Search or equivalent technologies.

·        Establish reusable AI components, engineering standards, architecture patterns, and development best practices.

·        Implement agent evaluation, monitoring, observability, troubleshooting, and prompt-injection mitigation.

·        Provide technical leadership and collaborate with cross-functional engineering and business teams.

Mandatory Skills

·        Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure OpenAI.

·        Experience building and deploying LLM-powered AI agents and agentic workflows.

·        Working knowledge of Microsoft Foundry and agent-development frameworks.

·        Strong programming skills in Python and/or C#.

·        Hands-on experience with MCP clients/servers, function calling, tool integration, and API orchestration.

·        Experience with vector search, embeddings, and Azure AI Search or equivalent.

·        Knowledge of identity management, access controls, secrets management, and AI security.

·        Experience delivering production-ready enterprise AI solutions.

Preferred Skills

·        Microsoft Agent Framework, Microsoft Fabric, Microsoft Graph, and SharePoint integration.

·        Azure Functions, Logic Apps, API Management, and Azure Service Bus.

·        LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or comparable agent orchestration frameworks.

·        Experience with LLM evaluation, observability, prompt-injection mitigation, and responsible AI.

·        Experience establishing reusable enterprise AI architecture and engineering practices.

Experience and Qualifications

·        15+ years of overall professional experience required.

·        Strong lead-level experience in software engineering, cloud development, enterprise integration, or AI architecture.

·        Relevant AI/ML or Generative AI implementation experience.

·        Demonstrated ability to take AI agents from proof of concept to production.

·        Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, and technical leadership skills.

·        Must be located in a Pacific Time Zone location and able to work PST business hours.
