Test Development Engineer - Onsite

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Test Development Engineer - Onsite position with a Global Medical Technology Company located in San Diego, CA. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

Compensation: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
This role develops automation test fixtures, including the design, building, and maintenance of specialized hardware and software tools. The Test Development Engineer will serve as the on-site owner of the lab environment, ensuring the infrastructure is stable and secure for product testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the on-site owner of the lab environment, ensuring infrastructure is stable, secure, and fully usable by remote teams
• Configure and deploy standardized Mac and PC images with required security patches and updates
• Collaborate with IT to maintain reliable network connectivity and quickly resolve infrastructure issues
• Assemble and maintain racks, servers, and hardware systems to support validation and testing needs
• Assemble electrical and mechanical fixtures used for product testing
• Install and repair wiring, conductive elements, and electrical components of the test fixtures
• Test and inspect electrical work like wiring and soldering to ensure safe installation and compliance
• Document lab layouts, device inventories, processes, and usage standards to ensure transparency and operational continuity

Primary Requirements:

• B.S in Computer Science or a related engineering field
• 1-3 years of related work experience
• Hands-on experience managing physical lab infrastructure, including hardware setup, rack configuration, and device provisioning
• Strong knowledge of macOS and Windows imaging, patch management, and endpoint security practices
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (switching, routing, VLANs, firewalls) and ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues effectively
• Excellent oral and strong written communication skills

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of source code management, such as Git
• Knowledge of Android and/or iOS devices, including debugging, installation, and configuration
• Knowledge of API-based testing for server communications
• Familiarity with a network debugging tool, such as Charles Proxy
