Job Title:   Teacher - Secondary
Location:   Bluebank School, Whittington Moor, Derbyshire, S41 8LQ
Hours:        37.5 hours per week | Monday - Friday 
Salary:       £39,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract:   Permanent | Term time only 
Start:          October 2026

About the Role

Are you a passionate and dedicated Secondary Teacher looking to make a real difference? Join our specialist school team and help students with additional needs build confidence, overcome barriers to learning, and achieve their full potential.

In this rewarding role, you will deliver engaging, personalised learning for students with autism and social, emotional and behavioural needs. Working closely with teaching assistants, care staff, families and other professionals, you will create a safe and supportive environment where every student can thrive and succeed.

What you will be doing

  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs and abilities.
  • Monitoring, assessing and reporting on student progress and achievement.
  • Developing and reviewing individual education, behaviour and support plans.
  • Creating a positive, stimulating and well-organised learning environment.
  • Supporting students to develop independence, resilience and self-regulation skills.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, families and external professionals to ensure consistent support.
  • Leading and coordinating curriculum areas or subject responsibilities as agreed.
  • Safeguarding and promoting the welfare, wellbeing and development of all students.

What you will bring

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised teaching qualification required.
  • Experience planning, delivering and assessing high-quality lessons.
  • We are looking for secondary teachers, across a range of subject areas due to growth of the school.
  • Experience supporting students with additional needs, including ASC and SEND (desirable).
  • Skilled in managing challenging behaviour with confidence and resilience.
  • Strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Driving licence required
