Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Data Governance & Quality Analyst to champion the integrity, security, and usability of our enterprise data assets. In this role, you will bridge the gap between technical infrastructure and business strategy, ensuring our data practices align with both internal excellence and external healthcare regulatory standards. The ideal candidate brings a blend of sharp analytical capabilities, robust SQL skills, and a deep understanding of data stewardship principles within the healthcare ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Quality Oversight: Design, implement, and monitor robust data validation frameworks to isolate operational anomalies, profile complex datasets, and mitigate systemic data errors.
- Enterprise Data Stewardship: Establish and actively maintain standardized corporate data glossaries, map cross-functional data lineage, and archive critical metadata profiles.
- Collaborative Alignment: Function as the primary liaison between business units and IT engineering teams to translate complex data challenges into actionable technical requirements.
- Compliance & Reporting: Monitor data handling procedures to ensure full compliance with healthcare privacy mandates while building interactive quality dashboards and governance status reports for leadership.
Candidate Requirements
Professional Experience
- Required:
- 3 to 8 years of dedicated experience within data analysis, data quality management, corporate data governance, or an equivalent analytical field.
- Proven cross-functional history collaborating with both business leaders and technical engineering squads to resolve data lifecycle bottlenecks.
- Solid understanding of enterprise data architectures, specifically surrounding metadata management strategies and documentation standards.
- Preferred:
- Prior healthcare industry exposure, with deep domain knowledge in managed care environments, commercial payer operations, or Medicare Advantage lines of business.
- Hands-on utility experience maintaining or deploying data catalogs, Master Data Management (MDM) platforms, or data observability tools within an active production setting.
- Regulatory baseline comfort navigating CMS structural demands, healthcare claims frameworks, and strict HIPAA compliance landscapes.
Education & Credentials
- Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline (equivalent, high-level professional experience will be factored in place of a degree).
- Preferred:
- Advanced specialization coursework or professional certifications related to health informatics or enterprise data analytics.
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) designation at the Associate level.

Technical & Analytic Capabilities
- Advanced Data Querying (SQL): Mastery of SQL for advanced data mining, schema validation, multi-dataset comparisons, and ad-hoc troubleshooting across relational databases and cloud data warehouses.
- Validation & Impact Analysis: Competent in setting up precise data checkpoints, assessing the downstream fallout of corrupted information, and formalizing audit summaries for governance review board evaluation.
- Data Cataloging & Architecture Tools: Exposure to, or an active desire to master, enterprise-grade data discovery catalogs (e.g., Alation, ) or automated quality platforms (e.g., Informatica DQ, ).
Domain Knowledge & Communication
- Healthcare Literacy: Familiarity with foundational medical data types (claims pipelines, member enrollment files, provider networks, and encounter metrics) specific to Medicare Advantage; awareness of CPT and ICD-10 coding mechanics is highly valued.
- Governance Frameworks: Fundamental understanding of data privacy laws and structural governance methodologies, such as those outlined by the DAMA-DMBOK framework.
- Strategic Reporting: Capable of translating complex dataset findings into streamlined dashboards and analytical summaries using industry-standard business intelligence tools (e.g., , ) and advanced Excel.
