Quick overview
Job description
Shape the future of the Real Estate practice at Gowling WLG.
We’re proud to be recruiting for Gowling WLG's dedicated Real Estate Training Contract – a unique opportunity to train within one of the UK’s most respected and high-performing real estate practices.
At Gowling WLG, we believe in developing talent from day one. As a Real Estate trainee, you’ll be entrusted with real work for household name clients. You’ll complete four six-month seats within our award-winning Real Estate Group, giving you deep exposure to the full range of property transactions, cases and projects.
You’ll work on landmark deals, supported by a close-knit team of legal experts who are passionate about mentoring the next generation of Real Estate lawyers. From planning and development to investment and litigation, you’ll gain the technical skills and commercial insight to thrive in a fast-paced, client-driven environment.
Why choose the Real Estate Training Contract?
- Specialist focus: Immerse yourself in Real Estate from the start of your career, accelerating your development and building deep legal and sector expertise.
- Clear path to qualification: With a clear route into one of our busiest and most successful practice groups, you’ll be well-positioned to qualify into a team where demand for talent is high.
- Exceptional training: Benefit from a full induction, structured learning, and one-to-one support from a partner mentor, supervisor, and the Early Talent team.
- Broader exposure: You’ll also complete two sector-focused seats alongside your training contract to build your commercial awareness and network across the firm.
- Financial support: We’ll sponsor your Postgraduate Diploma (law conversion) and/or LLM Legal Practice (SQE1 & 2) at the University of Law, covering course fees and providing a maintenance grant (£7,000 for London trainees / £5,500 for Birmingham trainees).
This is more than a training contract – it’s a launchpad for a long-term career in Real Estate. If you’re passionate about property, ambitious about your future, and ready to make an impact, we want to hear from you.
We will be running our Discover Gowling WLG: Sector Series from 8 October to 5 November 2026. The series provides an opportunity to hear directly from our lawyers and trainees and learn about our sector focus. We encourage prospective applicants to attend the series before, or alongside, preparing their application.
Applications close on Wednesday 18 November 2026. We encourage you to apply as soon as you feel ready and not leave your application until the closing date.
