Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements, and manage full project lifecycle from initiation to closure
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including clinicians, IT staff, analysts, and Epic representatives to ensure clear communication and alignment on project objectives
  • Change Management: Facilitate end-user training, workflow design, and adoption of Epic systems to minimize operational disruption
  • Integration Oversight: Coordinate integration of Epic with existing systems, i.e. Oracle, or third-party clinical tools
  • Compliance and Security: Ensure adherence to HIPAA, GDPR, and internal security standards
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor project progress, report on KPIs, and provide updates to executive sponsors and PMOs
  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate new Epic modules, recommend enhancements, and optimize system performance post-implementation
Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • Epic Certification: Proficiency in Epic modules such as EpicCare, Resolute, or Cadence
  • Project Management Expertise: Knowledge of PMBOK, PRINCE2, or Agile methodologies
  • Healthcare IT Knowledge: Understanding of EHR systems, clinical workflows, patient data management, and regulatory compliance
  • Leadership and Communication: Ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively with executives, clinicians, and IT staff
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Navigate complex challenges creatively while maintaining project momentum
Educations/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, IT, project management, or a related field
  • Experience in hospital operations, clinical workflows, or health informatics

  • Epic certification through an authorized provider

  • 3–5 years of project management experience in IT or healthcare IT projects
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent project management certification is often preferred
