Location: Herndon, VA (100% Onsite)

Job Description

We are seeking a Senior IPv6 Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in IPv6 Assessment, Design, Migration, Testing, and Deployment within enterprise or service provider environments.

Note: This is not a general Network Engineer role. Candidates must have dedicated, project-based IPv6 engineering experience.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of Network Engineering experience

• Strong hands-on experience with IPv6 Design, Deployment, Assessment, Migration, and Troubleshooting

• Experience designing and supporting IPv4/IPv6 Dual-Stack environments

• Strong knowledge of Cisco Routing & Switching (IOS/IOS-XE)

• Experience with BGP, OSPFv2, OSPFv3

• Strong understanding of Multicast Technologies (PIM-SM, IGMP, MLD)

• Experience developing IPv6 addressing plans and network design documentation (HLD/LLD)

• Hands-on experience with IPv6 testing, Proof of Concept (PoC), implementation, and production migrations

• Experience troubleshooting complex routing and multicast issues

• Cisco CCNP certification or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Cisco CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure or Service Provider)

• Python or Ansible for Network Automation

• NAT64, DNS64, GRE, ISATAP, 6in4

• SNMP, NetFlow, QoS, ACLs

• Experience leading enterprise IPv6 migration projects

• Knowledge of federal IPv6 compliance requirements
