Job Description

Senior Bridge Engineer
Location: Liverpool
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 DOE + Benefits
Type: Permanent
The Opportunity
We are currently partnering with a well-established engineering consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior Bridge Engineer for their Liverpool office.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected infrastructure design team delivering a diverse portfolio of bridge and structural engineering projects across highways, transport and rail sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading schemes from initial concept through to detailed design and project completion while supporting the development of junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of bridge and civil structures projects throughout the full project lifecycle.
  • Undertake and review structural calculations, technical reports, drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes and client requirements.
  • Carry out bridge inspections, assessments and technical evaluations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and contractors.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
  • Support project planning, programme management and resource allocation.
  • Contribute to business development activities and client engagement where required.
About You To be considered for this position, you should have:
  • Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Significant experience within bridge engineering, including design and assessment work.
  • Strong understanding of relevant standards and specifications, including DMRB, Eurocodes and MCHW.
  • Experience producing and checking technical calculations, reports and design deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Chartered status or progression towards chartership would be advantageous.
