As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will help shape sustainable designs that protect our climate and enhance the built environment. This role offers the opportunity to contribute technical expertise across a varied portfolio of projects, working closely with colleagues and clients to deliver thoughtful, high-quality engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Civil engineering BIM modelling using BIM compatible programmes suitable to discipline, including the full Autodesk Suite of programmes and Causeway Flow.
- Prepare and self-check drawings and models.
- Coordinate drawings and models with internal and external design teams.
- Undertake internal and external training.
- Assist Engineering Technicians.
- Transmit documents to external parties and manage associated documentation.
- Work in compliance with the duties of Designer under the CDM Regulations 2015.
- Work in compliance with the practice IMS.
- Liaise with Engineers and review production of information on a project-by-project basis.
- Guide Apprentice and Junior Technicians.
Competencies
- Degree, HNC, or HND in civil engineering.
- 3-5 years of experience as a civil engineering technician.
- Experience preparing and self-checking civil engineering drawings and models.
- Good knowledge of drawing/modelling software as appropriate, including Civil 3D, AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience with Causeway Flow for civil engineering BIM modelling.
- Good knowledge and understanding of the CDM 2015 regulations.
- Good knowledge of Civic CAD/ BIM Standards documents.
- Experience transmitting documents to external parties and managing associated documentation.
- Experience working in compliance with an integrated management system (IMS).
- Experience coordinating drawings and models with internal and external design teams.
- Experience liaising with Engineers to review production information on a project-by-project basis.
- Eligible to work in the United Kingdom.
- Experience working across several project sectors is a plus.
- Experience working with both private-sector and public-sector clients is a plus.
🫶Flexibility. Our core hours are between 10:30am-4:30pm, with an early Friday finish!
