Take your recruitment career further

New year. New opportunities. A market that's going places.

Already successful in recruitment but looking for a bigger opportunity? Ready to increase your earnings, take greater ownership of your desk, or step into a leadership role?

We're hiring an experienced recruitment professional to join Piper Maddox in New York, working across the rapidly evolving CleanTech market, with a focus on Energy Storage Systems and Electric Vehicles.

As LHi Group's longest-standing specialist recruitment brand, Piper Maddox has an established reputation in the energy sector. Today, we're building on that legacy, expanding into emerging markets and developing new opportunities across the technologies transforming how energy is stored, transported and used.

The New York team is rebuilding with renewed momentum, has already surpassed its total billings from the previous year, and is investing in further growth. With established client relationships, live opportunities and new markets to develop, this is an opportunity to join a team with genuine commercial potential.

Whether you're an experienced consultant looking to maximise your billing, a specialist recruiter ready for your next challenge, or an ambitious professional looking to progress into management, we'd love to hear from you.

The opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a growing team operating in two exciting areas of CleanTech: Energy Storage and Electric Vehicles.

You'll have the opportunity to develop your own recruitment desk, build relationships with businesses shaping the future of energy and mobility, and work in markets where specialist expertise can translate into significant commercial opportunities.

The team has already generated nearly $600,000 in invoiced revenue during the first half of the year, recorded a best-ever invoicing month of almost $250,000, and is building on a portfolio of established client relationships and repeat business.

With an average fee of almost $40,000, opportunities to develop new markets and 14 live jobs across the team, there is a strong platform from which to grow.

Your focus will be on building your network, developing new business, identifying commercial opportunities and delivering recruitment solutions that make a genuine difference to clients.

The opportunity offers the chance to:

  • Develop a specialist recruitment desk across Energy Storage or Electric Vehicles.

  • Work in markets with significant growth potential and increasingly specialised hiring needs.

  • Build relationships with established clients while identifying and winning new business.

  • Benefit from a supportive team that has already exceeded its previous year's total billings.

  • Earn uncapped commission, with the opportunity to benefit from a generous commission structure.

  • Progress towards management and potentially build a team around your market after 6–12 months, subject to performance and business needs.

The immediate hiring priority is an experienced recruiter operating at Manager level or above, ideally with a Renewables background and exposure to engineering recruitment. We're also interested in ambitious recruiters who can help develop these markets and establish themselves as specialists in CleanTech.

Why Piper Maddox?

An established brand. A market in transition.

Piper Maddox is LHi Group's longest-standing specialist recruitment brand, with established expertise across Clean Energy and CleanTech.

We partner with businesses working across the technologies and infrastructure transforming how energy is generated, stored, distributed and used.

Our markets include:

  • Energy Storage Systems (ESS).

  • Electric Vehicles and eMobility.

  • Renewable Energy.

  • Clean Fuels.

  • Energy Management and Grid Resilience.

As the energy landscape evolves, businesses need specialist talent to support technological development, commercial growth and the transition towards new energy systems.

For experienced recruitment consultants, this creates opportunities to build valuable industry relationships, develop specialist knowledge and establish a strong position in markets where the right talent can make a significant difference.

At Piper Maddox, you'll have the opportunity to build on the reputation of an established brand while helping develop its next phase of growth.

You'll benefit from existing industry relationships and the wider resources and international reach of LHi Group, alongside the autonomy to develop your own commercial opportunities.

CleanTech: Energy Storage & Electric Vehicles

Energy Storage and EV markets offer the opportunity to work with businesses operating in an evolving, innovation-led industry.

From energy storage technologies supporting the changing energy infrastructure to electric vehicle businesses developing the next generation of mobility solutions, these markets present complex talent requirements and opportunities for specialist recruitment.

You'll help organisations access the expertise they need to develop technology, expand their operations and respond to changing energy demands.

For a commercially minded recruiter, this is an opportunity to develop a specialist desk in a market with room to grow, build long-term client partnerships and establish a reputation in an evolving industry.

Why join our New York team?

Join our New York team in the Financial District and become part of a growing business with ambitious plans.

The team currently has six people and is working towards eight by the end of 2026. With a supportive and friendly culture, a healthy sprinkle of banter and a focus on helping people succeed, it's an environment where you can build your career while contributing to the team's next phase of growth.

The team has already surpassed its previous year's total billings and includes consultants who have secured significant client wins and delivered strong individual results.

You'll benefit from:

  • A platform to build from: An established client portfolio, existing relationships and live recruitment opportunities.

  • Room to grow: New markets to develop across Energy Storage and Electric Vehicles.

  • Meaningful commercial opportunities: An average fee of almost $40,000 across the team, with scope to pursue larger client relationships and retained work.

  • Progression into leadership: The opportunity to build a team around your market after 6–12 months, subject to performance and business needs.

  • A central location: A Financial District office with flexible working arrangements based on your internal level.

You'll be joining a team that is growing quickly, with the opportunity to influence its direction rather than simply slot into an established structure.
