IT Specialist - Chelmsford

Principal IT are proudly supporting a client in the UK automotive industry on the recruitment of an IT Specialist to join their team in Chelmsford.



The Role

We're looking for a hands-on IT Specialist to join the team in Chelmsford. This is a varied position covering IT support, infrastructure, networking, systems, security and technology projects.

You'll work closely with the wider business to keep systems secure, reliable and efficient, while supporting users and helping implement new IT solutions.



Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on IT support and troubleshooting.
  • Set up and maintain hardware, software and user accounts.
  • Manage Microsoft 365, Windows and Active Directory.
  • Maintain networks, switches, firewalls, VPNs and wireless infrastructure.
  • Support system upgrades, installations and migrations.
  • Research, test and implement new software and IT solutions.
  • Support IT projects, system changes and user training.
  • Maintain IT documentation and security standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes.


About You

  • Experience in IT Support, IT Systems, Infrastructure or a similar role.
  • Strong Microsoft 365, Windows and Active Directory knowledge.
  • Good understanding of networking and infrastructure.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection and Cyber Essentials.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users.
  • Organised, proactive and comfortable working independently.


Package

Salary: Up to 35,000
Location: Chelmsford
Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Arrangement: On-site
