Product Manager (Healthcare Operations & Care Journeys)

Overview

Our client is seeking a highly collaborative and influential Product Manager to support a portfolio of healthcare products focused on improving clinical and operational care journeys. This role serves as the bridge between business stakeholders, operational leaders, clinical teams, and technology partners to ensure solutions deliver measurable value while balancing competing priorities across the organization.

This is not a greenfield product build role. The Product Manager will help drive the evolution of established products and workflows through continuous enhancement, strategic prioritization, stakeholder engagement, and Agile delivery practices. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating complex organizational dynamics, leading difficult prioritization discussions, and managing conflicting stakeholder requests while maintaining alignment with broader business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Business Ownership

• Own product enhancements and roadmap initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
• Partner with business sponsors and operational leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement and product optimization.
• Define, prioritize, and communicate product strategies that align with organizational goals.
• Evaluate enhancement requests and recommend priorities based on business value, operational impact, technical feasibility, and strategic alignment.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and delivery teams.

Stakeholder & Sponsor Management

• Build strong relationships with clinical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
• Facilitate discussions among multiple stakeholder groups with competing priorities and objectives.
• Lead challenging conversations regarding scope, priorities, timelines, and competing requests.
• Provide recommendations and influence decision-making, including pushing back on requests when they do not align with strategic priorities or available capacity.
• Present product updates, roadmaps, and recommendations to senior leadership and business sponsors.

Agile Delivery & Product Execution

• Partner closely with engineering, Epic, analytics, and operational teams throughout delivery.
• Own and facilitate key Agile product activities including:
  • Backlog management and refinement
  • User story development
  • Sprint planning support
  • Requirements clarification
  • Acceptance criteria definition
  • Sprint reviews and stakeholder demonstrations
• Ensure product requirements are clearly documented and understood by delivery teams.
• Support the successful execution of enhancements within an Agile/Scrum environment.

Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Analyze operational and product data to identify trends, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.
• Monitor product effectiveness and help define success metrics.
• Synthesize stakeholder feedback, business needs, and operational insights into actionable product recommendations.
• Support initiatives involving:
  • Care journey optimization
  • Cancer screening programs
  • Chronic condition management
  • Clinical and operational workflow improvements
  • Epic-integrated healthcare solutions

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Healthcare Operations, Consulting, or a related field.
• Experience managing products, platforms, services, or operational programs in a complex enterprise environment.
• Proven success working with senior stakeholders, sponsors, and cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading prioritization discussions and managing competing business requests.
• Strong communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Experience translating business objectives into product requirements and delivery plans.
• Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience supporting product enhancements and ongoing product evolution rather than exclusively new product development.

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare, payer, provider, health system, or healthcare technology experience.
• Experience working with Epic or healthcare workflow platforms.
• Experience supporting highly regulated environments.
• Exposure to product roadmapping and portfolio planning.
• Experience creating executive-level presentations and business communications.
