Senior IT Asset Management (ITAM) Consultant

Resource 1 is seeking a Senior IT Asset Management (ITAM) Consultant to help build and operationalize an enterprise IT asset management program at our client in the transportation industry. Our client has established good visibility into its IT inventory but needs to improve management of the full hardware and software asset lifecycle.  The consultant will assess the current environment, develop future-state processes, evaluate existing tools, and implement a sustainable ITAM operating model.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess client''''s current ITAM processes, tools, data, and gaps.
• Develop and implement hardware and software asset lifecycle processes.
• Evaluate existing tools such as Tanium, Ivanti, SolarWinds, and native platforms and determine whether additional solutions, such as Armis, are needed.
• Establish processes for asset assignment, movement, redeployment, warranty management, retirement, and disposal.
• Develop Software Asset Management (SAM) processes focused on license utilization, reclamation, and optimization.
• Integrate asset data from Tanium, CrowdStrike, NAC/network data, and other sources.
• Improve processes for identifying missing, inactive, moved, or improperly assigned devices.
• Establish ITAM governance, controls, and processes to improve data accuracy and cost management/ chargebacks.
• Implement and operationalize the solution rather than simply providing recommendations.
• Document processes and provide knowledge transfer to client''''s internal team.

Required Qualifications

• Strong IT Asset Management (ITAM) experience.
• Proven experience building or improving enterprise ITAM programs.
• Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) experience.
• Experience with IT asset discovery, tracking, and management platforms.
• Experience with tools such as Tanium, Ivanti, SolarWinds, Armis, CrowdStrike, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of asset lifecycle management, data reconciliation, governance & controls.
• Ability to work hands-on and drive implementation from strategy through execution.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
