Summit’s team is inspired to touch and help change lives through Summit’s clinical studies in the field of oncology. Summit has multiple global Phase 3 clinical studies, including:

Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)

  • HARMONi: Phase 3 clinical study which was intended to evaluate ivonescimab combined with chemotherapy compared to placebo plus chemotherapy in patients with EGFR-mutated, locally advanced or metastatic non-squamous NSCLC who were previously treated with a 3rd generation EGFR TKI.

  • HARMONi-3: Phase 3 clinical study which is intended to evaluate ivonescimab combined with chemotherapy compared to pembrolizumab combined with chemotherapy in patients with first-line metastatic NSCLC.

  • HARMONi-7: Phase 3 clinical study which is intended to evaluate ivonescimab monotherapy compared to pembrolizumab monotherapy in patients with first-line metastatic NSCLC.

Colorectal Cancer (CRC)

  • HARMONi-GI3: Phase 3 clinical study intended to evaluate ivonescimab in combination with chemotherapy compared with bevacizumab plus chemotherapy.

Ivonescimab is an investigational therapy not presently approved by any regulatory authority other than China’s National Medical Products Administration (NMPA). Summit is headquartered in Miami, Florida, and has additional offices in California, New Jersey, the UK, and Ireland.

Overview of Role:

The Senior Director of Regional Marketing leader will play a critical role in supporting the successful commercialization of Summit Therapeutics' oncology portfolio by establishing and leading the Company's U.S. regional marketing strategy, capabilities, and organization. This role will translate overarching brand and commercial strategies into differentiated regional approaches that address market dynamics, customer needs, and opportunities to maximize business impact.

The Senior Director will build, recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing team of Regional Marketing Directors, establishing the vision, operating model, capabilities, and processes required to support effective regional customer engagement and commercial execution. The role will provide strategic direction and coaching to the regional marketing team while maintaining accountability for the quality, consistency, and impact of regional strategies and initiatives.

Role and Responsibilities:

Regional Marketing Strategy & Leadership

    • Establish and lead the overall U.S. regional marketing strategy and operating model, ensuring alignment with corporate, brand, launch, and commercial objectives.
    • Establish strategic priorities, objectives, KPIs, and performance expectations for the regional marketing organization and ensure consistent execution across regions.
    • Provide strategic oversight of regional customer engagement initiatives, ensuring resources and activities are appropriately prioritized against the highest-value opportunities.
    • Serve as a senior strategic advisor to Commercial leadership on regional market opportunities, customer dynamics, competitive intelligence, and implications for brand and commercial strategy.
    • Partner with Marketing leadership to ensure regional insights meaningfully influence brand strategy, positioning, segmentation, customer engagement, and launch planning.

Team Leadership & Organizational Development

    • Build, recruit, hire, onboard, develop, and lead a high-performing team of Regional Marketing Directors aligned to the Company's evolving commercial and geographic needs.
    • Establish the organizational structure, roles, responsibilities, capabilities, and performance expectations necessary to support a high-performing regional marketing organization.
    • Provide ongoing leadership, coaching, mentoring, and development to Regional Marketing Directors, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and customer-centricity.
    • Establish and maintain consistent regional marketing standards, operating processes, and governance across the team while allowing appropriate flexibility based on market-specific needs.

Customer & Thought Leader Engagement Strategy

    • Establish the strategic framework for engagement with National and Regional Thought Leaders, including segmentation, prioritization, engagement planning, and cross-functional coordination.
    • Provide strategic oversight of customer engagement plans developed by the regional marketing team, ensuring appropriate alignment with national brand strategy and customer needs.
    • Ensure regional customer insights are synthesized and elevated to inform national commercial strategy and decision-making.

Market & Customer Insights

    • Establish a structured regional insights strategy and operating cadence to capture, synthesize, and communicate customer feedback, competitive intelligence, market dynamics, treatment trends, and emerging opportunities.
    • Partner with cross-functional leaders to distinguish meaningful market signals from tactical feedback and translate insights into strategic implications for the broader Commercial organization.
    • Ensure the regional marketing organization serves as a critical two-way conduit between the field and corporate teams, bringing national strategies to the field while elevating regional intelligence to inform enterprise-level decisions.

Congress & Customer Engagement Strategy

    • Establish the strategic framework for national and regional congress engagement
    • Ensure congress strategies are integrated with broader brand, customer engagement, field, and thought leader strategies.
    • Oversee the strategic development and execution of Promotional Speakers Program as well as regional and national commercial advisory boards in partnership with relevant cross-functional stakeholders.
    • Ensure all customer engagement initiatives are appropriately integrated across Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, and other relevant functions.

Cross-Functional Leadership

    • Serve as a senior strategic partner to Commercial, Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Legal, Compliance, and other functional leaders to drive integrated customer engagement strategies.
    • Establish strong cross-functional governance and communication processes to ensure regional priorities are aligned with broader business objectives.
    • Influence national strategy by bringing forward regional market intelligence, customer insights, competitive dynamics, and recommendations based on field-level opportunities and challenges.
    • Drive alignment across functions while proactively identifying and resolving potential gaps, dependencies, and execution risks.

Compliance & Governance

    • Establish and maintain appropriate governance, processes, and controls to ensure regional marketing activities and customer engagements are executed in accordance with Company policies, applicable laws and regulations, and established compliance requirements.
    • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Medical Affairs, and other relevant functions to ensure appropriate oversight of regional marketing activities.
    • Foster a culture of compliance and accountability across the regional marketing organization.
    • All other duties as assigned

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 12+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare marketing, with demonstrated experience supporting commercial products and/or launches.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience building, recruiting, developing, and managing high-performing marketing teams, preferably within a pharmaceutical or biotechnology organization.
  • Demonstrated experience leading regional marketing strategy and organizational capabilities within the U.S. pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.
  • Oncology experience is required, with experience supporting the commercialization and/or launch of oncology products strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate national brand strategy into differentiated regional strategies and customer engagement approaches.
  • Strong understanding of the U.S. healthcare ecosystem, including payer dynamics, treatment pathways, healthcare delivery systems, and the evolving oncology marketplace.
  • Demonstrated experience engaging with National and Regional Thought Leaders, key healthcare stakeholders, and other priority customers.
  • Experience providing strategic oversight of commercial advisory boards, speaker programs, congress strategy and execution, and other customer engagement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex customer, market, and competitive insights and translate them into actionable strategic recommendations.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Commercial Operations, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a high-growth, fast-paced, pre-commercial or commercialization-stage biopharmaceutical environment, with the ability to build structure and capabilities while adapting to evolving business priorities.
  • Strong strategic thinking, executive presence, communication, organizational leadership, and change-management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with sufficient understanding of field execution to ensure strategies are practical, differentiated, and impactful.

This is the pay for this position

Pay Transparency
$220,000$270,000 USD

 

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable variable compensation.
