We're partnering with a leading organisation seeking an experienced Technical Infrastructure Lead to provide hands-on leadership across a complex hybrid IT estate.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of critical infrastructure services, working alongside a skilled engineering team to ensure the availability, security and performance of core business systems. You'll act as the senior technical escalation point, driving operational excellence while supporting the delivery of a resilient and modern Microsoft infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Technical Infrastructure Lead, you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of the infrastructure estate while providing technical direction to a team of engineers.

You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to maintain service stability, coordinate operational activities and support the successful delivery of infrastructure improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing technical leadership to a team of Infrastructure Engineers.
• Acting as the highest technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
• Maintaining the availability, performance and resilience of enterprise infrastructure services.
• Leading the response to major incidents, coordinating technical resolution and service restoration.
• Managing infrastructure change, patching schedules and vulnerability remediation activities.
• Supporting backup, disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
• Working with third-party suppliers and managed service providers to ensure effective service delivery.
• Supporting the transition of new technologies into live operational support.
• Producing technical reports, operational updates and risk assessments for senior stakeholders.

Technical Environment

You'll ideally have strong experience across most of the following:

• Microsoft Azure
• Microsoft 365
• Microsoft Entra ID
• Windows Server
• Hyper-V
• Cisco Networking
• Palo Alto Firewalls

About You

You'll be a senior infrastructure professional who combines strong technical expertise with excellent operational leadership.

We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

• Extensive experience supporting enterprise Microsoft infrastructure environments.
• A strong background in hybrid cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
• Experience leading technical teams or acting as the senior technical authority.
• Proven experience managing major incidents and complex technical escalations.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL service management principles.
• Experience managing suppliers and outsourced support partners.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across technical and business teams.
