💰 Annual Salary: $95,000–$110,000 + Incentives
📅 Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
📍 Location: North Richland Hills, TX | 100% Onsite
This position requires working onsite in North Richland Hills, Texas. Remote and hybrid work arrangements are not available.
Strong customer relationships don’t happen by accident. They’re built through clear communication, sound decisions, and someone who takes ownership when the pressure is on.
TCI Transportation is looking for a proactive Senior Brokerage Account Manager to manage customer accounts, expand freight opportunities, and help strengthen our brokerage team’s daily execution. You’ll combine hands-on account management with team coaching, workload coordination, and problem-solving—keeping customers informed and shipments moving while driving revenue and gross profit.
Reporting to the Director of Account Development, you’ll be expected to understand your accounts, anticipate their needs, and follow through on commitments.
🎯 What You’ll Be Doing
🤝 Own Your Customer Relationships
Manage assigned accounts, understand customer shipping needs, and provide solutions that support both daily operations and long-term partnerships. Maintain weekly customer contact and accurate information for key stakeholders.
📈 Grow Account Revenue & Profitability
Identify opportunities to expand transportation services, increase load volume, and maximize revenue and gross profit within each assigned account.
📦 Manage Shipment Execution
Build shipments, complete manual and electronic data interchange (EDI) order entry, and schedule pickup and delivery appointments. Keep details accurate and coordinate with other departments to meet customer needs.
💰 Coordinate Pricing & Resolve Rate Disputes
Provide spot pricing, work with Pricing and Sales when needed, and address customer rate disputes professionally. Ensure shipment rates are accurate for billing.
👥 Coach the Team & Keep Work Moving
Provide training and coaching on day-to-day responsibilities. Organize and distribute additional work, maintain team focus, and help ensure workloads are balanced fairly.
📋 Strengthen Process Consistency
Audit standard operating procedures, organize customer updates, and identify practical improvements that help the team deliver accurate, dependable service.
🔎 Resolve Account & Payment Issues
Partner with Credit to address payment concerns and maintain accurate, reliable customer accounts. Take ownership of issues and work across departments to reach a resolution.
📞 Keep Communication Clear & Timely
Manage customer expectations, communicate changes, and respond promptly when problems arise. Coordinate with leadership on after-hours response times so customer needs receive appropriate attention.
✅ What You Bring
Transportation industry knowledge and the ability to apply it to complex customer needs and shipping situations.
Strong customer relationship skills, including clear communication, active listening, and composure during difficult conversations.
A hands-on approach to team support, with the ability to coach coworkers, coordinate priorities, and keep work organized.
Strong analytical skills, including calculating rates, ratios, and percentages and evaluating spot pricing.
Solid U.S. geography knowledge, including major cities, distances, transit times, and the impact of time zones and weather.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook, and web-based applications.
Organization, attention to detail, and accountability when managing multiple customers, deadlines, and competing demands.
You take responsibility, adapt when plans change, and focus on solving the problem—not assigning blame. Flexibility to work additional hours when necessary to meet commitments is part of the role.
💼 Make an Impact Beyond Your Accounts
This opportunity combines customer ownership, commercial responsibility, and day-to-day team leadership. Your work will influence account growth, shipment execution, billing accuracy, and how effectively the team serves customers.
We’re looking for someone who can earn customer trust, help coworkers improve, and recognize opportunities to deliver better results.
