Administrative Officer 
Grade 3 £25,614 - £26,016 - this is based on full time working, 37 hours/52 weeks per year
Part-Time | 52 weeks per year 
Start Date: As Soon As Possible

At Bitterne Park School, we understand the importance of a clean and tidy environment for our students and staff. We are currently seeking dedicated and proactive individuals to join our Housekeeping Team. Your commitment to cleanliness will help foster a safe and welcoming atmosphere that supports our educational objectives.

As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across the school premises. This includes but is not limited to, cleaning classrooms, corridors, toilets and common areas. Your role will ensure that our facilities are not only clean but also healthy for everyone who enters the school.

The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to manage cleaning schedules effectively. We value teamwork and communication to ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently, contributing to a positive learning environment.

Supporting the School 

At an appropriate level, according to the job role, grade and training received, all employees of the school are expected to: 

  • Support the aims, values, mission and ethos of the school and participate in a team approach to all aspects of school life.
  • Attend and contribute to staff meetings and INSET days as required and identify areas of personal practice and experience for development. 
  • Take appropriate responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, be aware of confidential issues relating to students, families, staff and the school, and maintain confidentiality at all times. 
  • Be aware of health and safety issues and act in accordance with the school's Health and Safety Policy. 

Other Duties 

The post holder may be required to undertake duties other than those specified in this job description, provided that they are of a similar level of responsibility and that appropriate training and support are provided where necessary.

  • Previous experience in a cleaning role is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.
  • Ability to perform cleaning tasks thoroughly and systematically.
  • Strong reliability and punctuality are essential for maintaining cleaning schedules.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving cleaning equipment.
  • Good interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and staff.
  • Willingness to adjust to varying cleaning needs and priorities.
  • Understanding of basic health and safety practices relevant to cleaning.
