Interaction Designer III

RESPONSIBILITIES

A client with Kforce is seeking a Interaction Designer III to join their team in San Diego, CA.

Summary

The PTG team is looking for a Senior Design Technologist to bridge design and engineering: building the technical foundations for prototyping, leading our UI refresh onto modern design systems, and streamlining how design work ships to production.

What you'll own

• Prototyping foundations - Build and maintain a proper Claude prototyping library/repo that teams build from; Ensure it starts from the right components and foundations, and keep GitHub structure (branching, versioning, contribution model) clean and scalable as teams adopt it
• UI refresh - Lead the technical kickoff of our UI refresh across IDS, GBSG, and CGDS; Define which system/components apply where, set implementation patterns, and make sure the refresh is done right the first time so it doesn't create new tech debt
• Accelerating PD - Get design experiences code-ready and pushed live faster; Partner with Product Design to define handoff processes that cut churn and shorten turnaround from design to shipped code

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree in Computer Science, UX, Product Design or related fields
• Strong front-end engineering background with real experience in design systems or component libraries
• Comfortable owning a repo end-to-end: structure, contribution guidelines, versioning, CI
• Experience working hands-on with design system tooling (Figma, design tokens, Code Connect or similar)
• Track record partnering directly with product designers to reduce handoff friction
• Bias toward pragmatic execution - able to unblock teams quickly, not just architect in the abstract

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
