Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

The Cloud Engineer will design, implement, and modernize the enterprise cloud landing zone, cloud ingestion patterns, and secure data pipelines. The role will re-engineer legacy data feeds, including SFTP, Azure Blob, and batch processing, into scalable, automated, cloud-native services aligned with state security and compliance requirements.

The engineer will work closely with cloud architects, security teams, vendors, and agency partners to build reliable, secure, and standardized data pipelines from ingestion through transformation and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and modernize enterprise cloud data integration solutions.
• Design and maintain cloud landing zones and cloud ingestion patterns.
• Build secure, scalable, and automated data pipelines.
• Modernize legacy integrations such as:
  • SFTP
  • Azure Blob Storage
  • Batch processing
• Develop cloud-native data integration and ingestion services.
• Implement robust pipeline orchestration, validation, monitoring, and error handling.
• Support data pipelines throughout the complete lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain cloud-based data warehouse and lakehouse capabilities.
• Implement Medallion Architecture, including:
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
• Define storage, partitioning, and data organization standards for performance and traceability.
• Implement data governance, privacy, security, metadata, and lineage practices.
• Support compliance requirements related to HIPAA, CJIS, and NIST.
• Serve as an ETL Subject Matter Expert (SME) for metadata, lineage, and data modeling.
• Collaborate with architects, security teams, vendors, and agency stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot and provide operational support for enterprise data pipelines.
• Evaluate emerging cloud and data engineering technologies.
• Explore AI-assisted development and automation opportunities to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Support future-state cloud and enterprise data capabilities.
  

  Cloud Data Engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud data engineering and integration.
  • Experience with modern lakehouse and medallion architectures.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based data platforms and enterprise integration patterns.
