Our team advises leading organisations across a range of sectors on public affairs, corporate communications, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. We help clients navigate complex policy and business environments, build compelling narratives, and engage effectively with key audiences through integrated communications and advocacy strategies.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and entrepreneurial individual who enjoys working across multiple projects and topics. You will support client programmes through research, analysis, content development and stakeholder engagement activities, while contributing to strategic client work and new business initiatives.

By joining our team, you will work alongside colleagues across APCO's international network, gaining exposure to a diverse range of clients and projects while developing the skills needed to become a trusted advisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Support project teams across a variety of client accounts spanning public affairs, and corporate communications, supporting clients on current issues, policy developments and communications approaches.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day delivery of client programmes, drafting materials, conducting research and analysis, and monitoring media, political and regulatory developments.
  • Draft high-quality written content, including press releases, op-eds, thought leadership articles, blog posts, stakeholder materials, briefing documents and social media content.
  • Conduct research and analyse findings to develop actionable insights, reports and recommendations for clients.
  • Build a strong understanding of clients' business objectives and stakeholder landscapes, helping to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Support and collaborate with interns and junior colleagues on project delivery as required.
  • Contribute to business development efforts through pitch preparation, market research and outreach activities.

Qualifications:

  • An academic degree in communications, public relations, political science, international relations, public affairs or a related field.
  • One to two years of relevant experience in public affairs, corporate communications, public relations, government relations or a related discipline; internship experience is also valued.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
  • Strong client-service mindset and ideally some experience engaging with clients or stakeholders through previous roles, internships or academic projects.
  • Proven ability to craft compelling stories and develop engaging written content for a variety of audiences and channels.
  • Strong interest in current affairs, politics, business and emerging trends, with an eagerness to stay informed on key developments.
  • Curious and adaptable, with the ability to quickly learn about new sectors, policy issues and client challenges.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and highly organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and consistently produce high-quality work.
  • Confident, collaborative and willing to contribute ideas, challenge assumptions and take initiative in a team environment.

We are recognized as one of the best agencies to work for in our industry, providing you with:

  • The opportunity to work on a diverse range of clients and projects (national and international) with some of the industry’s best and brightest.
  • A collegial and collaborative work environment, where you will work closely with colleagues from around the world.
  • The opportunity to visit and work from our other global offices and the opportunity for Global Exchanges.
  • The chance to take on responsibility quickly with abound opportunities to develop professionally and personally.
  • Clear career paths, ongoing internal & external training, and access to our global Learning Platform.
  • Flexible work arrangements, a supportive team, collaboration across all levels, and a truly open culture.
  • A competitive compensation and benefits package with perks around mobility, mental health, pension, and your personal & professional development.
