Our client is seeking a Senior Payroll Analyst to join a collaborative payroll team supporting a large, multi-state workforce. - Job Type: Contract (3 6 months with potential for contract-to-hire)
- Location: Costa Mesa, CA (Onsite)
- Compensation: This job is expected to pay about $33.00 $35.00/hour W2
What You ll Do:
- Process high-volume, biweekly multi-state payrolls while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Audit payroll transactions including earnings, taxes, deductions, garnishments, bonuses, retroactive pay, and final pay.
- Perform payroll reconciliations, support quarter-end and year-end activities, and assist with payroll audits and reporting.
- Partner with HR, Accounting, Operations, IT, and Legal to resolve complex payroll issues and support payroll system enhancements.
- Analyze payroll trends, improve processes, develop reporting, and identify opportunities to automate manual tasks.
What Gets You the Job:
- 5+ years of progressive payroll experience processing large, multi-state payrolls in a high-volume environment.
- Experience supporting enterprise payroll systems such as Dayforce (preferred), ADP, UKG, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, including advanced California payroll law.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and payroll reconciliation experience.
- Experience supporting organizations with large hourly employee populations, preferably in restaurant, retail, or other multi-location environments. CPP certification is a plus.
