Title: Lead Financial Analyst (Accounting & FP&A)
Location: Dayton, OH 45424 / Hybrid (one visit per month after onboarding)
Employment Type: 7+ Month W2 Contract (No C2C or sponsorship available)
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Job Description

Talent Groups is seeking an experienced Lead Financial Analyst for a seven month contract supporting the corporate finance organization of a large, publicly traded technology company.

This role combines accounting oversight with financial planning and analysis (FP&A). The ideal candidate has strong month end close experience, advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, and the ability to analyze financial results, update forecasts, investigate discrepancies, and guide junior team members.

Experienced Accounting Managers, Assistant Controllers, Controllers, and Directors of Accounting with strong FP&A skills are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee month end close activities and review journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and expense allocations.
• Analyze actual results against budgets and forecasts, explain variances, and update financial projections.
• Investigate accounting discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting and internal controls.
• Partner with business leaders to analyze spending, identify trends, and support financial decisions.
• Provide technical guidance and review the work of two junior finance team members.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting and processes.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience in corporate accounting, FP&A, or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of month end close, accruals, journal entries, and financial reconciliations.
• Experience with variance analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and provide guidance to other finance professionals.

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• Experience as a Lead Financial Analyst, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or Director of Accounting.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance, Oracle, and reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Master's degree or relevant professional certification.
