The opportunity

Are you persistent about following unpaid claims, investigating payment delays, and keeping accounts receivable moving? HRG is looking for an experienced medical billing professional who understands the importance of consistent payer follow-up and accurate account management.

HRG has provided medical billing services since 1999. Many of our medical-practice clients have partnered with us for 10–20 years. You'll join an experienced, U.S.-based team, and our billing work is never offshored.

What you'll do

  • Review and follow up on unpaid insurance claims.
  • Investigate denials, payment delays, and outstanding balances.
  • Contact payers to determine claim status and next steps.
  • Submit claims, perform charge entry, and post payments as needed.
  • Track accounts receivable and follow claims through resolution.
  • Prepare monthly A/R reports.
  • Answer billing questions from patients and medical practices.
  • Use multiple EHR systems and payer portals.

What you'll bring

  • At least 3 years of medical billing experience.
  • Hands-on experience with A/R, denials, and payer follow-up.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Persistence and accountability in resolving outstanding claims.
  • Clear communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word, plus the ability to learn new systems.

Schedule options

  • Option 1: Five 8-hour days, Monday–Friday.
  • Option 2: Four 9-hour days, Monday–Thursday, plus a half-day Friday working from home, if desired, after 90 days of employment.

Choose a consistent daily start time between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. and maintain that start time.

Pay and benefits

  • $23–$26/hour, depending on experience
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Three weeks of PTO and seven paid holidays
  • Casual dress

If you take ownership of outstanding claims and enjoy seeing billing issues through to resolution, HRG could be a strong fit.
