As a Grocery Department Manager, you will oversee all daily operations of the Grocery Department, drive sales and profitability, and ensure strong in‑stock conditions, accurate pricing, and high merchandising standards. Main responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the Grocery Department with a focus on customer service, sales, and department readiness

• Deliver friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally

• Ensure shelves, displays, and aisles are clean, full, front‑faced, and merchandised to company standards

• Execute planograms, promotional sets, seasonal transitions, and weekly ad merchandising

• Manage ordering, inventory levels, product rotation, and backroom organization

• Monitor shrink and implement procedures to reduce waste and loss

• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, safety, and operational standards

• Hire, train, coach, schedule, and develop grocery associates while fostering a positive team environment

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Soft skills:

• Strong customer‑service focus with a visible team presence

• Strong organization, prioritization, and problem‑solving abilities

• Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment

Competencies:

• Grocery merchandising and planogram execution

• Inventory management, ordering, and shrink control

• Labor planning, scheduling, and performance management

• Operational standards, food safety, and compliance execution

Knowledge:

• Grocery product flow, rotation, and inventory control

• Retail merchandising and promotional execution

• Store systems and ordering tools

Abilities:

• Ability to analyze sales, labor, and inventory data to drive results

• Ability to train, coach, and develop associates

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry products and work in coolers and freezers

• Travel requirements: None

• Other requirements: Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays; reliable attendance; compliance with company safety policies and Code of Business Conduct

Union and Non-Union: “The pay range is $21.06 to $32.50 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Dependent on length of service, hours worked and any applicable collective bargaining agreement, benefits include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation pay (accrued based on hours worked), paid holidays (9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401k eligibility).”
