NIS, now part of Gallagher, is seeking a Sales Assistant to join our growing team! This is a hybrid position based out of our Brookfield office in Wisconsin.

Are you highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about supporting a dynamic sales team? We're looking for a Sales Assistant to play a critical role in helping our sales and account management teams deliver exceptional employee benefits solutions to clients.

In this role, you'll be the engine behind the proposal and marketing process, partnering with Sales Representatives, Account Representatives, Regional Vice Presidents, carriers, General Agents, and underwriting teams to bring competitive benefit solutions to market. From coordinating carrier quotes and managing proposal timelines to preparing impactful benefit comparisons and supporting sales strategy, your work will directly contribute to winning business and strengthening client relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment where attention to detail, problem-solving, and relationship-building are key to success.

Why You'll Love This Role:

  • Be a key contributor to a high-performing sales organization.
  • Work closely with leadership, sales professionals, underwriting teams, and carrier partners.
  • Gain exposure to complex employee benefits strategies and market solutions.
  • Make a measurable impact on new business growth and client success.
  • Join a collaborative team that values partnership, innovation, and professional development.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy bringing people and processes together, and take pride in delivering exceptional service, we'd love to hear from you.

How you'll make an impact
  • Coordinate and manage the employee benefits proposal, marketing, and bid process from initial request through final submission.
  • Prepare bid specifications for existing clients and review information for prospective opportunities.
  • Serve as a key point of contact between sales teams, carriers, General Agents, underwriting partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate proposal delivery.
  • Gather, organize, and distribute census data, claims experience, questionnaires, bid specifications, and other supporting documents to carrier partners.
  • Track proposal activity and proactively follow up with carriers to obtain quotes, illustrations, underwriting requirements, and supporting materials.
  • Review carrier proposals and prepare side-by-side comparisons to support sales strategy and client presentations.
  • Develop polished proposal packages, benefit comparisons, marketing materials, and formal bid responses.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with carrier partners, General Agents, and internal business partners to support successful sales outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate proposal tracking, customer records, and sales support resources within company systems.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify process improvements, enhance efficiencies, and elevate the overall sales support experience.
  • Stay current on market trends, carrier products, underwriting requirements, and employee benefits offerings.

About You
  • Experience in employee benefits, insurance, underwriting support, sales support, account management, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of employee benefit products including:

    • Disability Insurance
    • Supplemental Health products such as Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity
  • Understanding of carrier underwriting processes, General Agent operations, and formal Request for Proposal (RFP) submissions.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM or proposal management systems.
