The Marketing Operations Business Solution Architect is responsible for designing, optimizing, and governing marketing technology solutions that support commercial, medical, and patient engagement strategies across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device organizations. This role bridges business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring marketing operations processes, data, analytics, and digital engagement platforms align with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in life sciences marketing operations, CRM, omnichannel engagement, marketing automation, customer data management, and commercial systems architecture. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to marketing, commercial operations, IT, analytics, and agency partners while leading solution design and transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Solution Architecture

Design and maintain end-to-end marketing operations architecture supporting HCP, patient, caregiver, and consumer engagement programs.

Translate business requirements into scalable and compliant technology solutions.

Develop future-state roadmaps for marketing technology, data integration, customer engagement, and analytics capabilities.

Lead solution architecture workshops with commercial, marketing, medical affairs, compliance, and IT stakeholders.

Define architecture standards, governance processes, and implementation best practices.
Marketing Technology Leadership

Define standardized workflows supporting campaign planning, content approvals, segmentation, targeting, execution, and measurement.

Partner with brand teams to improve campaign execution and operational excellence.

Identify opportunities for automation and process simplification.
Data, Analytics & Customer Engagement

Design data flows and integrations between CRM, CDP, MDM, data warehouse, analytics, and marketing automation platforms.

Support customer engagement programs utilizing first-party and third-party data sources.

Enable advanced customer segmentation, audience management, and personalization strategies.
-
Work closely with analytics teams to support campaign measurement, attribution, and performance reporting.
Compliance & Governance

Ensure solutions comply with life sciences regulations and internal governance standards.

Support legal, regulatory, privacy, and medical review processes.
-
Partner with compliance teams to ensure promotional materials, digital content, and customer communications meet industry requirements.

Establish controls for data privacy, consent management, and customer preference management.
Stakeholder & Program Leadership

Collaborate with Commercial Operations, Sales Operations, Marketing, Medical Affairs, IT, Data & Analytics, and external vendors.

Lead requirements gathering, solution workshops, architecture reviews, and design approvals.

Support implementation partners during development, testing, deployment, and hypercare phases.

Mentor business analysts, marketing operations teams, and junior architects.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Marketing, Life Sciences, or related field.

8+ years of experience in Life Sciences commercial technology, marketing operations, or solution architecture.

Strong understanding of pharmaceutical marketing workflows and commercial operations.

Experience with CRM, marketing automation, CDP, customer data, and digital engagement platforms.
