• Administers and manages the operations of a multitude of network applicants/systems/backbone routers/switches.
• Administers equipment, systems, and networks, develops and publishes a variety of plans, policies, and procedures associated with procedural, system security and system technical concepts needed to accomplish operation.
• Conducts cyber incident response and conducts incident handling and malware/vulnerability analysis on network equipment.
• Identifies, analyzes, and evaluates abnormal situations related to network degradation caused by incorrect software, inadequate operating procedures, equipment failure, and data base errors. Requirements

• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
• This position is designated Tier 5, Special Sensitive, High Risk and the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance Level with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access as a condition of employment.
• Position requires lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Mission Essential: Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander and may be required to remain on duty after the official shift ends,
• i.e., mandatory overtime; subject to recall to duty. Incumbent must maintain a functioning telephone to aid in contact during recall/emergency situation.
• This position may require 24x7 duty as mission requires and is subject to rotating shift work including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• This is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 USC 1599f. Appointment to this position does not confer competitive status.
• Appointment to this position may be subject to a three year probationary period unless has previously completed.
• In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at the assigned proficiency level:
• 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2)Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap).
• This is a drug designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program in accordance with AR 600-85.
• Signing of a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as Critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program)
• acknowledging periodic random drug testing requirements is mandatory prior to being placed into this position.
• Those individuals not currently occupying a TDP position must successfully complete a pre-appointment drug test prior to being placed into this position and periodically thereafter.
