Position Overview
We are seeking a Microsoft Fabric Senior Architect to lead the architecture and design of enterprise data solutions using Microsoft Fabric.
This position requires a true hands-on architect with strong Microsoft Fabric experience. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric architecture and the ability to design end-to-end data platforms rather than primarily functioning as a Senior Data Engineer.
Key Responsibilities- Architect and design end-to-end data platforms using Microsoft Fabric.
- Define the appropriate use of Fabric Lakehouse, Warehouse, KQL Database, and Datamart based on business and technical requirements.
- Design and organize OneLake folder structures and naming conventions.
- Architect data solutions leveraging OneLake and understand its underlying architecture and relationship to ADLS Gen2.
- Determine when to use PySpark, SQL, or Dataflows Gen2 for data engineering and transformation requirements.
- Design and implement Fabric Shortcuts and understand their role in enterprise data architecture.
- Define and implement Delta Lake architecture within Microsoft Fabric.
- Provide architectural guidance across Fabric data services, platforms, and workloads.
- Establish scalable and maintainable enterprise data architecture standards and best practices.
- Strong, hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Proven experience working as a Data Architect / Enterprise Data Architect / Microsoft Fabric Architect, rather than solely as a Senior Data Engineer.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Fabric architecture.

- Delta Lake
- Fabric Shortcuts
- PySpark
- SQL
- Dataflows Gen2
- Ability to architect an end-to-end data platform in Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong understanding of data platform architecture, design patterns, and enterprise data solutions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

- End-to-end Microsoft Fabric data platform architecture
- Lakehouse vs. Warehouse architecture
- OneLake architecture and organization
- OneLake vs. ADLS Gen2
- Lakehouse, Warehouse, KQL Database, and Datamart selection
- Fabric compute engines
- PySpark vs. SQL vs. Dataflows Gen2
- Fabric Shortcuts
- Delta Lake within Microsoft Fabric
This is an Architect-level position. The client is specifically looking for a true Microsoft Fabric Architect and does not want a Senior Data Engineer profile. Strong Microsoft Fabric experience is mandatory.
