About Fulfillment IQ (FIQ)
Fulfillment IQ is a supply chain engineering and transformation company that helps brands, retailers, and 3PLs design, build, and scale high-performance logistics operations.
We work at the intersection of strategy, operations, and technology, solving complex, real-world problems across warehouse design, automation, order management, transportation, and end-to-end supply chain execution.
Our teams combine deep domain expertise with strong technical capability, delivering outcomes through consulting, systems implementation, and proprietary platforms that accelerate time-to-value and reduce delivery risk.
If you enjoy working in complex environments, partnering closely with clients, and seeing your work make a tangible impact on how global commerce moves, this is the place where your skills and judgment truly come to life.
Role Overview
Fulfillment IQ is expanding its Blue Yonder practice within our Enterprise Systems Implementation team and is seeking a senior Blue Yonder WMS Design Lead / Solution Architect to lead solution design for complex warehouse transformation programs.
The Design Lead will own the end-to-end functional and technical solution design for Blue Yonder WMS implementations, translating business and operational requirements into scalable warehouse solutions and providing clear direction to configuration, integration, testing, and delivery teams.
This role will serve as a senior design authority throughout the engagement—from discovery and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment, go-live, and hypercare. The Design Lead will work closely with client business and IT stakeholders, FIQ delivery teams, integration teams, and warehouse automation partners to ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with Blue Yonder standard capabilities.
Engagements may include large retailers and 3PLs, template-based multi-site rollouts, legacy WMS migrations, complex distribution operations, and highly automated distribution centers involving ASRS, AMRs, WCS/MHE, sortation, conveyance, print-and-apply, parcel, and other material-handling technologies.
This is a highly client-facing leadership role requiring deep Blue Yonder WMS expertise, strong solution architecture capabilities, and the ability to influence stakeholders, challenge requirements, and drive teams toward a common solution.
Mandate
- Own the end-to-end functional and technical solution design for Blue Yonder WMS implementations.
- Translate business processes and operational requirements into scalable Blue Yonder WMS solutions.
- Establish solution design principles and ensure configuration teams remain aligned with approved requirements, architecture, templates, and design decisions.
- Challenge requirements and proposed customizations where standard Blue Yonder functionality can meet the business need.
- Determine the appropriate use of standard functionality, configuration, extensions, customization, and integrations.
- Provide design governance throughout configuration, testing, deployment, and hypercare.
- Lead integration design discussions across ERP, middleware, WCS/MHE, automation, parcel, transportation, and labeling platforms.
- Identify solution risks, dependencies, assumptions, and design gaps early and drive them to resolution.
- Serve as a trusted Blue Yonder WMS advisor to client IT and business stakeholders.
- Help establish FIQ's Blue Yonder delivery methodology, templates, accelerators, and reusable assets.
- Mentor Blue Yonder consultants and support development of FIQ's WMS capabilities.
- Support pre-sales activities including solution strategy, estimates, proposals, demonstrations, and client presentations.
Must Have
- 7+ years of WMS implementation or consulting experience, including substantial Blue Yonder (JDA/RedPrairie) WMS experience, on enterprise programs
- Hands-on Blue Yonder design and configuration experience. You must be able to judge design quality and challenge vendor and partner answers. Testing-only or support-only backgrounds will not be a fit
- Experience as a Solution Architect, Design Lead, or Techno-Functional Lead on at least one full-lifecycle Blue Yonder implementation
- Strong operational understanding of warehouse processes: receiving, putaway, inventory control, replenishment, allocation, picking, packing, and shipping
- Experience with new implementations, or with migrations from legacy or custom WMS platforms
- Experience defining and validating WMS–ERP integration requirements with Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP platforms
- Ability to lead design workshops and translate operational needs into functional designs, fit-gap analyses, and solution documentation
- Experience supporting test planning, SIT/UAT execution, defect triage, and cutover readiness
- Comfort working with distributed onshore/offshore teams across time zones
- Strong client-facing presence and the confidence to push back on vendor and stakeholder assumptions
- Based in the United States and able to travel up to 50%, based on client needs
