Location: Irvine, CA (100% Onsite)
Duration: 10/13/2026 - 4/30/2027
Pay Rate: Up to $37/hr W2

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading automotive brand, is seeking a UI/UX Designer to support Connected Vehicle digital products during a leave coverage engagement. This individual will play a key role in designing and reviewing customer-facing experiences across both mobile applications and web portals while collaborating with Product Managers, development teams, and global stakeholders.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the unique differences between mobile app and web experiences, enjoys creating new features and interfaces in Figma, and can thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative product environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design user interfaces, customer journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and interactive experiences for connected digital products across mobile applications and web portals.

  • Create new feature concepts and user experiences using Figma, ensuring intuitive and engaging interactions.

  • Partner with Product Managers, developers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective design solutions.

  • Review designs and concepts from global teams and provide UI/UX recommendations focused on usability, functionality, customer experience, and design consistency.

  • Maintain continuity of design standards, branding, tone, and user experience across all customer touchpoints.

  • Support implementation reviews, quality assurance testing, and validation of customer journeys to ensure designs are delivered as intended.

  • Create and manage digital assets, templates, and supporting materials for cross-functional teams and customer communications.

  • Contribute to the overall customer experience strategy by serving as an additional layer of review for customer-facing content and interactions.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of UI/UX design experience supporting customer-facing digital products.

  • Strong experience designing both mobile applications and web-based experiences.

  • Advanced proficiency with Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and UI design.

  • Demonstrated experience building new features, workflows, and concepts from initial requirements through final design.

  • Experience collaborating with Product Managers, developers, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Understanding of responsive design principles and the differences between mobile and web user experiences.

  • Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.

  • Strong visual design, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within the automotive, connected device, IoT, telematics, or smart product industries.

  • Experience designing applications that connect with physical devices or exchange real-time data.

  • Exposure to connected ecosystems such as smart home devices, consumer electronics, wearables, or vehicle technologies.

  • Bachelor's degree in UI/UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience supporting global product initiatives and collaborating with international teams.

What the Hiring Manager Is Really Looking For

  • Strong Figma designer who can create new features from scratch.

  • Someone who understands the differences between designing for mobile apps versus web portals.

  • Product-focused designer, not strictly a marketing or graphic designer.

  • Ability to review and improve existing UI/UX concepts coming from global teams.

  • Experience with connected products, IoT devices, automotive technology, or apps that interact with physical hardware is highly desirable.

  • Comfortable working with multiple Product Managers and balancing competing priorities.

  • Able to ramp up quickly and contribute immediately in a fast-paced environment.
