Hybrid 4 on, 1 remote in Pittsburgh, PA

Our client seeks a Scrum Master to coach Agile teams, improve delivery, and cultivate a transparent and collaborative environment. The role shall facilitate Scrum ceremonies, remove impediments, support Product Owners with backlog health, and drive continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings deep Agile expertise, strong communication and mentoring skills, and practical experience with JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel. Exposure to AI initiatives and supporting engineering teams with AI solutions is preferred.

Rate: $50.00 to $55.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure customer delight through effective Agile delivery.
  • Guide teams and the organization on Agile and Scrum practices and values.
  • Enable self-organization and help teams address gaps in the Scrum framework.
  • Assess Scrum maturity and coach toward higher, sustainable levels.
  • Remove impediments or guide teams to the right personnel to resolve them.
  • Foster a trusting, safe environment that supports open problem solving.
  • Facilitate work completion without coercion, assigning, or dictating tasks.
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Improve transparency and information radiators through clear communications.
  • Support and educate Product Owners on grooming and maintaining the backlog.
  • Provide servant leadership and lead by example.
  • Oversee agile development processes across pods and coordinate with RTEs and Scrum Leads to escalate platform-level impediments and manage risks and dependencies.
  • Promote self-organization, empowerment, innovative thinking, and self-development.

Experience Requirements:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Scrum Master for software development teams applying Scrum principles, practices, and theory.
  • Skills in servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continuous improvement, empowerment, and transparency.
  • Knowledge of patterns and techniques to address gaps in Scrum, including burndown approaches, retrospective formats, and defect handling.
  • Knowledge of Agile approaches such as XP, Kanban, Crystal, and FDD.
  • Experience with Agile techniques including User Stories, ATDD, TDD, CI, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, and Agile Games.
  • Applicable knowledge of team technologies.
  • Prior management experience.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
  • AI exposure and experience assisting engineering teams with AI solutions.
  • Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

Education Requirements:
  • Certified Scrum Practitioner (CSP) or Certified Scrum Master.
  • Bachelor's degree in business or systems technology. Other fields may be considered.
