6+ years of hands-on DBA experience on major relational database platforms (e.g., Microsoft
SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
Advanced SQL & T-SQL / PL/SQL / PL/pgSQL proficiency.
Deep knowledge of backup/restore, replication, log shipping, clustering
Strong performance tuning expertise (execution plans, indexing, statistics, memory
configuration).
Capacity Planning: Proven experience building forecasting models, performing trend analysis,
and making proactive scaling recommendations.
Scripting/automation: PowerShell, Bash, Python, or equivalent.
Cloud expertise: AWS RDS, AWS Aurora, Azure SQL/Managed Instance; familiarity with AWS
native monitoring (CloudWatch) and backup services (Snapshots, Aurora Backtrack).
Monitoring tools: SolarWinds DPA, Redgate, pgAdmin, CloudWatch, PrometheGrafana,
Splunk
