This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer who wants to take on a technically interesting role within a strong engineering environment, working on the electrical design and continued development of complex manufactured equipment. We are particularly interested in speaking with experienced Electrical Design Engineers who enjoy taking ownership of their designs and working closely with other engineering disciplines and manufacturing to take designs from initial requirements through to completed product. The position will give you responsibility across electrical system design, schematics, component selection, technical documentation, design improvements and practical engineering problem solving, while working closely with Mechanical Design, Production and the wider Engineering team. Key Responsibilities for this Electrical Design Engineer position Design and develop electrical systems for complex manufactured equipment Produce electrical schematics, drawings and associated technical documentation Specify and select electrical components and equipment Develop and modify existing electrical designs to support product improvements Work closely with Mechanical Design Engineers to ensure effective integration of electrical and mechanical systems Provide technical support to Manufacturing during build, assembly and testing Investigate and resolve electrical design and production-related engineering issues Ensure designs meet relevant technical, safety and quality requirements Support engineering changes and maintain accurate design documentation Contribute to new product development and Continuous Improvement activities Work with suppliers and internal departments on technical requirements where required Essential Criteria for this Electrical Design Engineer position Previous experience within Electrical Design Engineering Experience designing electrical systems for machinery, equipment or another manufactured product Ability to produce and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings Good understanding of electrical components, control systems and practical electrical engineering Experience using electrical design / CAD software A third-level qualification within Electrical / Electronic Engineering or another relatable Engineering discipline Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills Experience within machinery, heavy engineering, automated equipment, mobile equipment, material handling or another complex manufacturing environment would be particularly relevant, although we are open to experienced Electrical Design Engineers from other manufacturing sectors. This position would particularly suit an Electrical Design Engineer, Senior Electrical Design Engineer, Electrical Systems Engineer or Electrical Controls Engineer who wants to take on greater technical responsibility within a well-established engineering environment.
