Applications Engineer

VanTran Industries, Inc. seeks an Applications Engineer to support custom medium-voltage transformer projects for utility, industrial, commercial, and renewable energy customers. In this role, you will interpret customer specifications, select and configure transformer designs, and prepare technical proposals, drawings, and documentation. You'll collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales and engineering to define transformer application requirements and solutions
• Review customer specifications and design inputs to develop custom medium-voltage transformer configurations
• Prepare technical proposals, drawings, and documentation to support bids and projects
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams throughout project lifecycle
• Assist in product selection, sizing, and optimization for utility, industrial, commercial, and renewable applications
• Coordinate with manufacturing to ensure designs are feasible, cost-effective, and meet quality and safety standards
• Support testing, troubleshooting, and field issue resolution related to transformer applications
• Maintain accurate records, configuration data, and project status within internal systems
