DevOps/Google Cloud Platform Platform Engineer

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced DevOps/Google Cloud Platform Platform Engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and automated cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD automation, Kubernetes, cloud networking, GitOps, and cloud security.

The candidate will be responsible for building cloud landing zones, developing reusable infrastructure modules, automating deployment workflows, managing containerized applications, and implementing monitoring, governance, and operational best practices across cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement secure, scalable Google Cloud Platform landing zones, including organization policies, projects, IAM, quotas, and resource governance.
• Develop and maintain reusable Terraform modules for cloud infrastructure, networking, security, and platform services.
• Design and manage Google Cloud Platform networking architectures, including Shared VPC, routing, DNS, firewalls, and private connectivity.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Google Cloud Build, and related automation tools.
• Manage Artifact Registry, container images, software supply chain security, and artifact lifecycle policies.
• Deploy and manage Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) clusters, including node pools, autoscaling, upgrades, and workload identity.
• Implement GitOps and policy-as-code practices using Config Sync, Policy Controller, and Google Cloud Fleet Management.
• Automate application deployments to GKE and Cloud Run using reliable release, rollback, and traffic management strategies.
• Integrate source control systems, developer tools, webhooks, and automated build and deployment workflows.
• Provision and manage temporary development and testing environments with appropriate lifecycle and cost controls.
• Implement cloud monitoring, centralized logging, distributed tracing, alerting, dashboards, and service-level objectives (SLOs).
• Automate backup, recovery, disaster recovery testing, and routine platform maintenance.
• Integrate cloud security services, including Secret Manager, Cloud KMS, Binary Authorization, and policy enforcement mechanisms.
• Develop self-service platform capabilities, reusable templates, standardized deployment pipelines, and developer onboarding frameworks.
• Follow Infrastructure-as-Code, version control, peer review, staged deployments, and production validation practices.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
• Solid experience in DevOps engineering and cloud platform automation on Google Cloud Platform.
• Proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI/CD and Google Cloud Build.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE).
• Knowledge of cloud networking, IAM, Shared VPC, and security best practices.
• Experience with GitOps, configuration management, and policy-as-code practices.
• Understanding of containerization, Artifact Registry, and automated deployment strategies.
• Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and operational automation.
• Familiarity with cloud security, secrets management, disaster recovery, and cost governance.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Cloud Run, Config Sync, Policy Controller, and Fleet Management.
• Knowledge of software supply chain security, artifact provenance, and Binary Authorization.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, self-service frameworks, and golden pipelines.
• Relevant Google Cloud certifications.
