The Role

• Operate heavy equipment, such as hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, to move shipping containers.
• Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks with precision and safety.
• Drive hostlers to strategically position containers and chassis within the intermodal yard.
• Perform pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure optimal safety and functionality.
• Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors to manage daily logistics tasks efficiently.
• Maintain a safe working environment by strictly adhering to established safety protocols.

What You'll Need

• A valid driver's license is mandatory for this position.
• Previous experience operating heavy equipment in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred.
• Strong commitment to safety and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing ladders and stairs.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including night shifts, weekends, and holidays based on union seniority.
• Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
