Product Strategy Lead (Grid Modernization / Utility Industry)

Client: PG&E
Location: Oakland, CA (Hybrid – 1 Day/Week Onsite)
Employment Type: W2 Only
Duration: Through February 2027

Job Summary

PG&E is seeking an experienced Product Strategy Lead to drive Grid Modernization, Grid Edge Strategy, AMI 2.0, and Distributed Energy Resources (DER) initiatives within the Strategy & Innovation organization.

This role will lead strategic product portfolios, develop executive-level business cases, collaborate across engineering and business teams, and help shape the future of the electric utility industry through innovative energy technologies.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead Grid Products strategy and innovation initiatives.
  • Develop product vision and long-term roadmap.
  • Drive Grid Edge, DER, and AMI 2.0 strategic initiatives.
  • Build executive-level presentations and business cases.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering and business units.
  • Remove roadblocks to ensure successful program execution.
  • Support product go-to-market initiatives.
  • Influence executive stakeholders and leadership.
  • Track product portfolio performance and strategic milestones.
  • Identify new opportunities to improve grid modernization efforts.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Energy, or related field.
  • 8+ years of Product Strategy or Product Management experience.
  • Utility industry experience is mandatory.
  • Strong executive communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience leading enterprise strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to manage complex cross-functional programs.
