Equinox is currently seeking a highly conceptual Senior Designer to join the creative team, reporting into the Creative Director. [1] [2] This role will play a crucial part in elevating Equinox’s design language, upholding the brand’s legacy of creative excellence through innovation, problem-solving and impeccable taste. The ideal candidate is a design leader, someone who sets the visual standard for the team, owns and evolves our design systems, and steers other designers toward consistently elevated work. The ideal candidate is both a strong designer and a proven art director with hands-on shoot experience, comfortable serving as the lead creative on set and seeing imagery through from shot list to final retouch.

Responsibilities & Requirements

Including but not limited to the following:

Design Leadership & Systems

  • Help evolve the team's design systems across all brand campaigns and owned channels (email, web, app, organic social, as well as paid media), translating the brand's visual identity into scalable, flexible systems that ensure exceptional craft and consistency across all marketing communications.
  • Set the visual direction for design projects and ensure work from across the team ladders up to a cohesive brand expression.
  • Build, maintain, and govern design templates, component libraries, and asset toolkits, driving adoption of design standards across the team to ensure consistency without compromising originality.
  • Explore how tools like gen-AI can be built into design systems and workflows to scale iterative work, such as growth asset variations.
  • Identify opportunities to refine and advance the brand's visual language, balancing innovation with a strong, recognizable identity.
  • Serve as a senior creative resource and mentor, raising the standard of design thinking, execution, and craftsmanship across the team.
  • Audit work to spot inconsistencies and refine the system over time.

Brand Stewardship & Creative Excellence

  • Act as a key guardian of the Equinox brand, maintaining an uncompromising standard of visual integrity, consistency, and creative excellence across campaigns, digital, social, print, environmental, experiential, and internal brand communications.
  • Approach design conceptually, with the ability to back up an idea with visually arresting moodboards and strategic rationale.
  • Interpret and evolve brand guidelines with intelligence and creative ambition, ensuring Equinox remains culturally relevant, visually progressive, and distinctly premium.
  • Partner with creative leadership to shape the brand's visual future, proactively bringing new ideas, perspectives, and creative solutions.
  • Review and elevate creative work across the team, ensuring every execution reflects the brand's aesthetic standards and strategic intent.
