Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Industrial Engineer to lead the Industrial Engineering function for a growing Air-Cooled manufacturing value stream consisting of five assembly lines. This individual will be responsible for establishing and governing labor standards, line balancing methodologies, capacity models, and continuous improvement systems that drive measurable gains in throughput, labor efficiency, and operational performance. This role requires a highly analytical manufacturing professional who can operate independently, influence stakeholders through data-driven decision making, and build sustainable Industrial Engineering processes that support long-term factory growth.
Key Responsibilities
  • Own and govern labor standards, cycle times, line balancing methodologies, and work measurement systems across the Air-Cooled value stream.
  • Develop and maintain model-specific, element-level labor standards to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Establish Industrial Engineering best practices, templates, tools, and governance processes.
  • Create sustainable auditing, validation, and continuous improvement frameworks for all labor and production standards.
  • Lead line balancing initiatives across multiple assembly lines to improve labor utilization and production flow.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify and eliminate bottlenecks, waste, and variability.
  • Redesign work content, station assignments, and assembly layouts to optimize efficiency and throughput.
  • Partner closely with Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, and Product Engineering teams to improve manufacturability and production performance.
  • Develop and maintain capacity models to support production planning, demand forecasting, staffing decisions, and long-range growth initiatives.
  • Conduct time studies, labor analyses, operational balance charts, and standard work evaluations.
  • Ensure production routings, labor standards, and planning assumptions accurately reflect shop floor performance.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations that support operational and strategic decision making.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and process improvement initiatives focused on labor efficiency, throughput, and waste elimination.
  • Utilize Industrial Engineering methodologies including Time Studies, Line Balancing, Standard Work Development, Work Combination Analysis, Capacity Modeling, Labor Optimization, and Continuous Improvement Tools.
  • Ensure process improvements are standardized, documented, and sustained over time.
  • Translate business objectives into Industrial Engineering roadmaps, projects, and measurable outcomes.
  • Serve as an independent, fact-based voice of operational performance and labor efficiency.
  • Influence manufacturing leaders and cross-functional stakeholders through analytical rigor and proven results.
  • Mentor operations personnel on standards development, takt time management, flow optimization, and variability reduction.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Experience: 5+ years of Industrial Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment. Experience supporting medium- to high-volume manufacturing operations.
Technical Skills: Demonstrated expertise in labor standards development, time studies, assembly line balancing, capacity and throughput analysis, standard work creation, and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence teams without direct authority.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in HVAC, appliance, automotive, aerospace, or other industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Prior ownership of Industrial Engineering programs, labor standards, or workforce planning systems.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions, production launches, or factory expansion initiatives.
  • Exposure to world-class manufacturing systems and operational excellence programs.
  • Experience leading large-scale line redesigns or facility transformation projects.
Why Join Us
This role provides a unique opportunity to influence the future of a rapidly growing manufacturing operation by creating the Industrial Engineering foundation necessary to support expansion, improve operational performance, and enable sustainable growth. The work performed in this position will have a direct impact on factory efficiency, customer delivery performance, and long-term manufacturing success.
