Job Description

Role: P&C Insurance Business Analyst & Domain Expert
Experience: 12+ Years
Primary Domain: Commercial Lines – D&O and/or Marine Cargo

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced P&C Insurance Business Analyst & Domain Expert with strong knowledge of Commercial Lines Insurance, preferably in Directors & Officers (D&O) and/or Marine Cargo. The candidate should combine deep insurance domain expertise with strong Business Analysis capabilities, and be able to work closely with Underwriters, Brokers, Product Owners, Operations and Technology teams. The candidate should also be familiar with Generative AI and AI-assisted application development tools and be comfortable using them to convert business requirements into prototypes, workflows and application concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a P&C Insurance Domain SME for Commercial Lines initiatives.
  • Provide functional expertise across New Business, Quote, Underwriting, Rating, Bind, Policy Issuance, Endorsements, Renewals and Cancellations.
  • Work with Underwriters, Brokers and business stakeholders to understand existing processes, pain points and business requirements.
  • Conduct requirement workshops and translate business needs into:
    • Functional requirements
    • User stories
    • Acceptance criteria
    • Business rules
    • Process flows
    • Data and integration requirements
  • Validate proposed solutions against insurance business processes, underwriting practices and product requirements.
  • Support design of Broker Portals, Underwriter Workbenches, Policy Administration and digital insurance journeys.
  • Define and validate insurance data, coverage, risk, rating and underwriting requirements.
  • Work with technology teams to clarify requirements and support solution design.
  • Support functional testing, UAT, defect analysis and implementation.
  • Use AI-assisted development and prototyping tools to rapidly create screen concepts, workflows and functional application prototypes.

Requirements

Domain Expertise Required

The candidate should have strong knowledge of Commercial P&C Insurance, including:

  • Underwriting and risk assessment
  • Broker submissions
  • Quote and Bind
  • Rating and Pricing
  • Coverages, Limits, Deductibles and Retentions
  • Policy Administration
  • Endorsements and Renewals
  • Referral and approval workflows
  • Policy documentation
  • Broker and Underwriter journeys

Strong experience in at least one of the following is required:

  • D&O / Management Liability
    • Side A, B and C coverage
    • Public and Private Company D&O
    • Corporate and financial risk assessment
    • Limits, retentions and coverage structures
    • Primary and Excess placements
    • Multinational program structures
  • Marine Cargo
    • Cargo / Goods in Transit
    • Open Cargo and Single Shipment policies
    • Imports and Exports
    • Commodity and shipment risk
    • Transit routes and transportation modes
    • Cargo valuation, limits and deductibles
    • Geographic and accumulation exposure

Mandatory Skills

  • 12+ years of Business Analysis and requirement gathering experience
  • Strong P&C Insurance domain knowledge
  • Strong Commercial Lines experience
  • D&O and/or Marine Cargo expertise
  • Underwriting and Policy Administration knowledge
  • Broker / Underwriter workflow experience
  • User Stories and Acceptance Criteria
  • Business Rules and Process Mapping
  • Functional and Data Analysis
  • API / Integration understanding
  • Agile / Scrum experience
  • Familiarity with Generative AI / AI-assisted application development tools

  • Power Apps or similar low-code/no-code platforms

The candidate should be able to use AI tools to support:

Benefits

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this remote role is $80-$97/hour. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.

This position is eligible for company benefits including participation in medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending or health savings account, and AD&D insurance, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program, and additional voluntary or legally-required benefits.
