Area Sales Representative

Location: Yorkshire

Offering Circa. 40,000 - 45,000 basic salary plus competitive bonus and benefits!

Our client is an established Yorkshire business specialising in the non-woven market. Due to continued expansion, they are currently recruiting an Area Sales Representative to join their non-woven division targeting UK mattress and bedding manufacturers.

Area Sales Representative - Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and grow a portfolio of existing accounts across bedding, and industrial segments.
  • Proactively prospect for new business, building a strong, self-sufficient pipeline.
  • Understand each customer's technical requirements and specification process, translating product capability into commercial value.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead through to close, including sampling, trials, and technical sign-off where required.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms in line with margin targets, escalating where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in CRM ensuring real-time visibility of pipeline and forecast.
  • Deliver weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales reporting to senior leadership, including forecast accuracy and conversion rates.
  • Analyse account and market data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities, feeding insight back into commercial strategy.
  • Track competitor activity, new product developments, and market conditions relevant to the nonwoven sector.
  • Liaise with Operations and Customer Service to ensure lead times, quality, and service levels meet customer expectations.

Area Sales Representative - Skills & Experience

  • Proven sales experience selling nonwovens, fibre products or mattress components into the mattress and bedding manufacturing sector.
  • Comfortable managing both existing accounts and new business development, with a track record of hitting revenue targets.
  • Confident communicating technical product information to a range of stakeholders, from procurement through to technical/engineering contacts.
  • Data-driven approach to pipeline management, forecasting, and CRM discipline.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable travelling to customer sites as required.
