Human Resources Generalist
JOB TYPE:
Full-Time; At-Will; Salaried (Non-Exempt, Essential Position)
REPORTS TO:
Chief Human Resources Officer
LOCATION:

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources (HR) department. This position manages a variety of administrative and HR functions, including maintaining personnel, I-9, and medical files; coordinating and scheduling employee training; supporting recruitment and onboarding activities; and ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable employment laws and regulations.

SALARY

$70,000 - $80,000 (Depending on Experience)
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, HIPAA, CPR, First Aid and AED, and Language Access. Manage new employee pre-onboarding and orientation, including but not limited to: benefits sign-up, including all forms, health and life insurance, and tax forms. Ensure timely setup and training for new staff in the timesheet and payroll system; Ensure accuracy of all data.

Maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
Conducts or acquires background checks, drug test, and TB test for required positions.

Personnel data verification on W-2 forms for employees
Manage TCP commuter benefit plan: ensure timely enrollment and termination as well as deduction changes
Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Chief Human Resources Officer. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. At least one year of human resource management experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Advanced computer literacy and expertise with software used in a typical office environment, e.g., Microsoft Office suite products, Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint to create and maintain reports and logs
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally to a wide range of audiences (customers, co-workers, managers, the public, stakeholders, etc.) face-to-face, virtually, or via telephone or other communication devices to elicit information
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
Ability to operate basic office equipment
Outstanding organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize and multitask
Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Must be able to gather and analyze information thoroughly and skillfully
Must have great listening skills and the ability to work well with people at various levels inside and outside of TCP
Ability to work independently and function well as part of a team
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, operate a computer keyboard, and handle paper documents
Ability to enter data and/or information into a computer
Ability to understand written and/or oral instructions
Ability to read a computer screen and printed materials with or without vision aids
Physical ability to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
