Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Scientist

Lakeview Hospital is looking to hire an MLS or MLT to join our Laboratory team!  Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for performing and analyzing complex medical laboratory tests and procedures which require the exercise of independent judgment with supervision.

Work Schedule:

• Monday – Friday
• 2:45pm-11:15pm
• Every 4th Weekend with 2 days off within the pay period.

Required Qualifications:

We are open to filling this position with an MLS or MLT. Requirements for each are outlined below:

Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS):

• Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology or a related science from an accredited college or university.
• Current certification as Medical Technologist (MT), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS), or Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) by the National Board of Registry American Society Clinical Pathology (ASCP).  If not present at hire must have within one year of start date.
• Must have valid driver’s license and meet all criteria required under Lakeview’s Automobile Liability Guidelines.
• Knowledge and skills sufficient to provide technical instructions and communicate and advise other departments on clinical laboratory procedures.
•  Basic leadership capabilities and good organizational skills.

Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLT):

• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
• Current certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) by the National Board of Registry, American Society Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologist (AMT) or equivalent. If not present at hire, must have within one year of start date.
• Must have valid driver’s license and meet all criteria required under Lakeview’s Automobile Liability Guidelines.

• Knowledge and skills sufficient to provide technical instructions and communicate and advise other departments on clinical laboratory procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-2 years experience
