The CCNE-accredited nursing degree programs at Alliant are designed to provide comprehensive and hands-on training to prepare students for the NCLEX exam. The program will help students develop the necessary skills and critical thinking to excel in clinical settings. They'll be trained in the latest techniques and technologies of modern nursing, and their instructors will share their expertise and provide personalized attention and guidance. With a strong emphasis on practical skills and real-world experience, students will have the opportunity to work with patients and healthcare professionals, gaining invaluable insights for their career.
Application Description:
Applicants to this position will be considered for a candidate pool encompassing one or more of the subject areas outlined in the job description. This pool will be used to identify qualified candidates for potential appointments during the 2026–2027 academic year.
Salary Range: $32 - $38 hourly (based on course requirements & level of education). This is a temporary, non-benefits eligible role.
Minimum Requirements:
- Education: Graduate degree in nursing with a doctorate degree preferred in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university. Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended.
- Experience: Minimum of two years experience of full-time registered nursing clinical experience. Experience in teaching or clinicals preferred. Curriculum or course development experience preferred.
- Certifications, Licenses, etc.: For teaching BSN and MSN-DE programs, unencumbered RN licensure in Arizona or multi-state compact license. For faculty teaching in post-licensure online programs, unencumbered RN licensure in California and state of residence. For other roles, unencumbered RN licensure in the state of residence. Additional licenses may be required. Certified Nurse Educator or certification in specialty area preferred.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Facilitating Classroom and Distance/Distributed Learning.
- Course and syllabus preparation.
- Class curriculum coordination and planning.
- Assessment and evaluation of learners.
- Mentoring and advising of students.
- Holding office hours and meeting with students.
- Research/scholarship mentoring and supervision, particularly of MA theses, PsyD projects, and PhD, EdD, DBA dissertations.
Skills:
- Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- The ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
- The ability to explain complex requirements in clear and concise terms .
- The ability to be flexible with workflow to meet the needs of the department and students and to manage multiple tasks per required deadlines.
- The drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable and guide candidates toward task completion.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member and develop trusting. relationships with students and Alliant employees, as well as the Registrar’s Office and various academic departments.
- Culturally competent and ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse people.
- Highly motivated, focused and results oriented.
- Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal interactions, and to maintain confidentiality.
- Collaboration and partnering with other university stakeholders to support candidate success.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.

Direct Reports: None.
Indirect Reports: None.
Contact Responsibility:
Internal: Works closely with colleagues in multiple departments (i.e., clinical training coordinators, branch directors, etc.) to support both students and colleagues in achieving student success and department goals.
External: None.
