Job Description

Position: Packaging Engineer Location: Fremont, CA / Sparks, NV / Austin, TX (Onsite) Start Date: Immediate Interview Mode: Phone/Video

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end‑to‑end engineered packaging projects for Vehicle and Energy platforms.

  • Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, NPI, and Operations teams to gather and develop packaging requirements.

  • Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics to enable efficient delivery of parts without compromising quality.

  • Provide design direction for protective packaging containers, dunnage, and shipping racks (domestic & international).

  • Apply CAD and technical design methods including datum structure, GD&T, and tolerance stack‑up analysis.

  • Monitor KPIs and drive packaging standards and continuous improvement.

  • Manage expendable to returnable packaging projects and sustainability initiatives.

  • Oversee project budgets, risks, vendor selection, and change management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Packaging, Industrial Design, or equivalent.

  • Strong CAD skills (Creo, SolidWorks) with experience in technical drawings, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.

  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as machining, welding, and injection molding.

  • Knowledge of materials including aluminum, steel, composites, and foam.

  • Experience designing to standards such as ASTM and Mil‑Spec.

  • Strong understanding of packaging testing and validation.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality results.

  • Excellent communication, risk management, and teamwork skills.

  • Willingness to travel up to 30%.
